Chaparral 2F Vector.
Tis’ what I’ve been doing for the past day or two:

Only 28 days left on Photoshop CS4 Trial Version. Must make moar.
MG Gelgoog: Paint Scheme.
Before you start comment on how atrociously drawn this is, I’d just like to mention how this was drawn on Paintbrush (the Mac OSX equivalent of MS Paint) with only the manual for reference. And drawn with a mouse, since I don’t own a tablet.
As you can see, it has a sort of an urban/ space use camouflage. I also probably will do some mods, especially to the shoulder (not shown).
MG Gelgoog Progress 1.5

More drilling today, and I fitted the handle on the knuckle shield. The entire assembly is unsanded and stuff, which is why it looks so crappy. I’ll sand down the nubs and slap on a primer coat soon. But first, I plan to at least get started on the mobile suit itself.
MG Gelgoog progress I
Using a spare Zaku shield and spikes from Kämpfer, I made the ‘knuckle’ shield today. A really simple mod, that any dumb modeler with a pin vise can do. Still, I feel strangely gratified.

Next in Line: MG Gelgoog ver. 2.0.
Next in line for the chopping block is my Master Grade Gelgoog ver. 2.0. As usual with my kits, this one’s been collecting dust for quite some time. I don’t have much planned yet, but I’m thinking Zaku ‘knuckle’ shield (I have a spare) and at least a custom paint job. I’ve had enough of pink for a while now.
You might be wondering, ‘Why Gundam again? What about cars? Or Tanks, etc.?’. Well, the answer is simple. In my ‘cache’ of model kits, Gundams are all that remain.

SD RX-93-V-2 Hi-Nu Gundam Papercraft.
I’ve always been fascinated by paper models. I liked the way how you can transform something as mundane as a piece of paper into something display-worthy. I remember when I was younger, I had tried to make one of a motorcycle (The Yamaha YZF-R1, I think), but failed completely.
Recently, I stumbled upon a website with some interesting papercraft designs, the most interesting being this one of the Hi-Nu Gundam. I’ve always wanted its Master Grade, but never got thanks to the price.

I thought it was post-worthy, which is why it’s here.
See the original site, with the blueprints here.
Nonscale Metal Gear REX Scratchbuild
Some person GOD scratchbuilt and casted a model of the Metal Gear REX. Some online hobby shops have already expressed interest in such a kit.
The kit has been cast, the sample casting has been built. All thats left is for me to draw the instructions. Starship Modeler has expressed an interest in carrying it there. They will set the final price for it but it should be under 150 USD. My sample only had 2 of the 4 toe spikes but all 4 will be in the kit. The pose i built it in stands at 7 inches tall and the rail gun is 11 inches long when built. The kit IS 1/72 scale and looks great with AC and other chunky burly mecha. It is made to be pick a pose in nature so you do not have to build it in just one way. It will NOT however stand on its own when built powered up and will need to be pinned ot a base.

See more of this awesome build here.
MG Strike Rouge Progress IV
Note: This is the progress report I forgot to update. It’s remained unpublished until I noticed it just now.
Today I painted and assembled the leg. The usual pink pearl paint and Alclad Aluminum was used.

Tomorrow I’ll do the other leg, and maybe the arm. Either way, I think I can finish this before Monday. And the seam in the circly thing in the ankles was corrected after the photos were taken.

The total time it took for the legs was a measly half hour. These pictures were taken about 15 minutes apart.
